I learnt about the Legend of Tongariro. Maori people once believed that a group of mountains were known as strong, independent warriors. According to the Legend of Tongariro all the male mountains were fighting over Pihanga, the only female mountain. I discovered that even mountains can have their own genders.
Today we read The Battle of The Mountains.
These two stories are similar because they both have the same mountains in both of the stories. Also in both of the stories Tongariro is the mountain who wins the battle.
Sam, I really enjoyed reading your blog post. The information you chose to share was important and I love how you started your sentence with according to the legend, a great sentence starter. I like how you identified the similar themes in the story.
