Christmas Round The World
We are learning about Christmas in other cultures and countries. ¨Merry Christmas¨ can be said in many languages. Mexican is spelt ¨Feltz Navidad¨, Italian is spelt ¨Buon Natale¨, the Chinese version is ¨Seng Dan Kuaile¨, and there are many more.
Mexican people tell the story of when Joseph and Mary arrived at Bethlehem and the innkeepers turned them away, but one innkeeper offered them to stay in the stables for the night. Mexicans eat spicy, hot food such as Nachos, Burritos, Tacos, and other various spices.

The Sacred Mountains
This week we have been learning about Sacred mountains. My task is to ask some questions about the sacred mountains. All of the questions I have asked have all been answered in the link.
What kind of mountains are they?
What type of culture are the mountains?
What are the mountains names?
http://media.newzealand.com/en/story-ideas/new-zealands-sacred-mountains/
I learnt about the Legend of Tongariro. Maori people once believed that a group of mountains were known as strong, independent warriors. According to the Legend of Tongariro all the male mountains were fighting over Pihanga, the only female mountain. I discovered that even mountains can have their own genders.
Today we read The Battle of The Mountains.
These two stories are similar because they both have the same mountains in both of the stories. Also in both of the stories Tongariro is the mountain who wins the battle.

Alarm Call
We have been describing a picture of an enormous monster and a teeny tiny kitten. I created a story
"Meow!" The adorable kitten sleeps peacefully on its pink, dotty cushion. The kitten had been playing around with its bouncy balls and is very worn out. While the kitten is sleeping a disgusting, nasty monster creeps up on it trying to plan on how to scare it.

The monster's skin was pale green and it had a white, hairy beard. The monster also had some pink warts scattered in random places on its body. The intimidating monster had gross, sharp, moldy nails that could cut open a paper bag.
The cute, irresistible kitten was as white as snow and was as fluffy as a sheep's wool. Around the tiny kitten were some miniature, bouncy balls that the kitten had been playing with. After the kitten was playing it decided to take a long nap.
But suddenly while the small, defenseless kitten is sleeping and the giant, destructive monster creeped up on the kitten and… They switched roles! The kitten became the enormous, menacing monster and the monster became the tiny, off-guard kitten!
After the kitten had scared off the monster, it never came back ever again. The End
